The Eye of the Storm: Finding Stillness Amid Chaos

When you look at photos from inside the eye of a hurricane, something almost mystical reveals itself — a calm blue circle above, ringed by towering walls of cloud, while unimaginable chaos spins below. It’s as though the Earth herself is reminding us of a great spiritual truth: peace is not the absence of the storm — it is the center of it.

The eye of the storm represents the divine center within all things — that place inside every being where stillness, awareness, and love reside, untouched by the outer turbulence of life. No matter how violent the winds of circumstance, no matter how dark the clouds of emotion, there is always a place within where the sky is still blue.

Spiritually, this image mirrors the journey of healing and awakening. The storm is life — full of change, loss, confusion, and growth. But when we dare, like those brave pilots, to fly into the center, we find something astonishing: a still point, a silence that holds everything together. It’s the heart of the soul — what mystics have long called the holy calm.

From that inner eye, we can witness the swirling chaos without being consumed by it. We see that the winds, though fierce, are also cleansing — stripping away what no longer serves, reshaping landscapes, and revealing what’s real.

So perhaps that’s the deeper message of Hurricane Melissa — and of every storm, both natural and personal. The goal is not to escape the storm or fear it, but to find the calm at its core. Because the eye of the storm isn’t only up there in the sky — it’s within each of us.

When we rest there, the world can rage and spin, and yet we remain steady — clear blue above, grounded peace below. 🌪️💙
